The use of top quality Jenix linear scales in conjunction with our Readouts will allow you to get incredibly accurate readings and fantastic repeatability for your work pieces. Our scales are a glass scale and work by scanning notches in the glass that are placed at 0.02mm intervals.

An aluminium cover and seal prevents swarf and dust particles from damaging the glass which gives the scale a very long life span if looked after properly.

Scales can be purchased in several different styles with the main difference being the thickness of the aluminium extrusion. Sometimes a slim line scale is needed in order to fit into tight spaces while conversely a heavy duty scale can be a good option for larger scales where you need something quite robust.

Each scale also comes with 3m of cable with extensions from 1m through to 4m available so that there is no need to worry about stretching or damaging wires.

A basic guide to sizing is outlined below:

JSN = Slim line

JSS = Standard

JSM = heavy duty

Please be aware that when placing an order the distance referenced in the product name/code refers to the measuring distance of the scale, the overall measurement is generally 200mm longer but please refer to the scale specifications to be exact. Each Linear Scale comes with 3m of cable as well as a selection of mounting hardware.

It can be a god idea to check every now and then to make sure that the seals on your scale are in good order and that coolant and swarf isn’t building up on the scale. If there is any issue generally replacing seals and cleaning the glass with contact cleaner will have you up and running again in no time. We carry a large array of spare parts with the option of having us perform servicing and maintenance for you.
